The Effects of 5 km Interval Running on the Anterior Cruciate Ligament Strain and Biomechanical Characteristic of the Knee Joint: Simulation and Principal Component Analysis

Interval running methodologies simulate competition and training conditions, with the aim of enhancing an athletes’ ability to cope constant deceleration, acceleration, sudden changes in direction, as associated athletic performance challenges. Fifteen male athletes were recruited this study, which anterior cruciate ligament was modeled a nonlinear elastic passive soft tissue OpenSim 4.2. Participants completed 5 km interval on treadmill. Before after running, kinematics, kinetics, electromyography activity lower leg during cutting maneuvers collected simultaneously. After training, strain demonstrated decreasing trend when performing unexpected maneuvers. Principal component analysis showed significant differences knee moments abduction-adduction; angles flexion-extension, external-internal rotation, abduction-adduction, well contact forces sagittal coronal planes. The findings study highlight that generate greater adduction moment at onset cut, followed by abduction towards end may have substantial impact loading. Furthermore, need be mindful plane forces.
